T2 Project Plan
I was wondering whether we should create a project plan to break up the various areas we need to look at e.g. OpenCore, Metallic, OCLP code...
What do you think? I have a framework of ideas on what to do and possible tests.

Yes.
I already tested on my MacBook Pro 2020 4 thunderbolt 3 ports to boot via OpenCorePkg and only 1 issue is left: when spoofing the SMBIOS, formatting a partition as APFS fails while the OS boots just fine; a very similar issue to unsupported T2 Macs. At this point I'm almost done with supported T2 Macs. Now, it's entirely time for unsupported T2 Macs, I'm nearly running out of ideas on how to fix this AppleKeyStore issue when formatting a partition as APFS on unsupported T2 Macs. The PI field is mostly empty on Hackintoshes and non-T2 Macs, but I'm not sure whether filling everything in the PI field is necessary for T2 Macs or not; and if not, then I'm genuinely running out of ideas.

wow! that is amazing! glad to see! You actually got T2 Macs working!!! Good job! Goal achieved!

So you can share your ideas.

Hi Albert, may I please find out if the t2 oclp is supported for 2012 MacBook Pro (MacBookPro9,2)? also the YouTuber OMC showed us a T1 copy but cannot find it anywhere. Running macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 25G83 but oclp t2 could only choose 25G82. Could you please let me know of any information you may have? Also got an error in the patcher for the t2 I have uploaded the full log. Thank you, macfixer1

Hi ! Yes, I believe I’m the person you’re referring to regarding the T1 version shown by OMC. I provided the T1 build/files for his video, but it’s a separate experimental project and the GitHub reference wasn’t included in the video.
Regarding the MacBookPro9,2, I honestly can’t confirm that the T1 build will work on it. My current development/testing is focused on the MacBookPro14,3 with T1, so I would need to check the hardware-specific code and patches before saying it’s supported.
If you send me the full patcher log, I can also take a look at the error you’re getting and see whether it’s related to the model or the Tahoe version.

Hi, thank you for your reply! I found the T1 version. I prefer to test it first and see what comes back and will let you know.
Thanks!

For the 2012 MacBook Pro, I think you will get no graphics acceleration, as Metal 3802 and non-Metal patches in PatcherSupportPkg are currently missing for Tahoe and are nonexistent. The same issue goes for 2013 MacBook Pro as well.
@Macfixer1 ·
Hi Albert thank you for your reply, will keep this in mind! Hey by the way on your T2 OCLP release, is 2019 MacBook Pro 13 inch supported? my relative has one and is stuck on sequoia please let me know if all patches will be available.
Thanks!

Unsupported T2 Macs at the moment boot only the macOS 26 installer at the moment. I'm working to fix an issue where upon trying to boot Tahoe fully installed shows Needs authenticator (81) panic.
@Macfixer1 ·
Hi
Thank you for letting me know 👍

Hi Albert
I have been doing some macOS 26 testing on the MacBook Air 2015 with OCLP RC3 and MacBook Pro 2012 with OCLP RC2.
How have your Macs been with macOS 26 if you have tested the Release Candidates?
Kept hearing things like 'the project is dead' before lol, seems like they pushed through

@Macfixer1 Dortania’s project isn’t dead. People were spreading propaganda about Dortania’s own project because it didn’t receive an update for a full year.
Unfortunately, RC2 and 3 doesn’t support T2 Macs yet. And both my Macs have a T2.
Still getting past Failed to install software update is a major hurdle, can you try on your own T2 Mac with Ethernet connected instead of WiFi if it gets past 29 minutes remaining? Unfortunately, my Mac mini 2018 has Ethernet but I can’t access Ethernet because my router is far away from the room.

Hi @albert-mueller
I have ethernet but unfortunately I dont have T2.
Closest I have tbh is a MacBook Air 2015 or an apple silicon.
I have been trying to get macOS 26 on the 2008 iMac but have been struggling cos when it boots in, it doesnt have any usb drivers so can't do anything. USB hub doesn't help either
If you have any ideas about this though pls let me know.
Hopefully the next RC or release will soon support T2.

@Macfixer1 I’d suggest root patching to get USB working.
@Macfixer1 ·
@albert-mueller that’s the problem, I can’t root patch as I get stuck at the login screen, as in I can’t type anything or click anything to get past that screen and forwards, but how do I get those patches in? I have a working sequoia partition with patches so would implementing patches into Tahoe from there work? Or I could find the KDK from oclp for macOS 26 version I am on?

At the moment even OpenCore Legacy Patcher 3.0.0 RC3 also has the same issue.
Your only option is to use remote desktop software until I or Dortania fix this.

@albert-mueller I am reading a lot around T2 before I start the plan. I am also visiting family next few days so likely I will start writing it beginning of next week.

Bear in mind that I have MacBookPro16,2 and Macmini8,1 only. No other model. Not even a non-T2 system.

@albert-mueller Hi there. Apologies not been active but I had an accident, fell down some stairs, and been out of action. No bad injuries but taking time away from code etc.
Looks like much progress has been made which is fantastic.
