I just tested it as well at the same time you are reporting the issue:

Hey @nkyzr929hc-netizen, the "29 minutes remaining" error is a classic macOS installer issue. It happens exactly when the installer tries to verify and flash a firmware update (EFI/bridgeOS), fails because of the unsupported hardware, and gets stuck.
Usually, this is bypassed by tricking the installer into thinking it's running inside a Virtual Machine, which forces it to skip all firmware checks. Could you double-check your OpenCore build settings? Make sure you have RestrictEvents enabled and that VMM spoofing (revpatch=sbvmm or similar boot-args) is properly injected in your config.plist. If you are manually spoofing the SMBIOS, ensure the board-id matches a supported model for the macOS version you are trying to install.

To what model should i spoof bcs everything you say is correct here. Im currently spoofed to macpro7,1 but one thing board id is empty everywhere when i check in OCAT

@nkyzr929hc-netizen ·

Can i fix it in OCAT or is it something different?

Hi @nkyzr929hc-netizen,

You do not need to fill or fix the Board-ID manually in OCAT. OCLP calculates and injects the proper Board-ID and DataHub values dynamically when building the OpenCore configuration.

To get past the 29-minute stall:

  1. Avoid spoofing to MacPro7,1 if your machine is a laptop or iMac—keep native SMBIOS in OCLP.
  2. Ensure RestrictEvents.kext is enabled and add revpatch=sbvmm to your boot-args. This tells the installer to skip the bridgeOS/firmware check that causes the 29-minute freeze.
  3. Rebuild your EFI with OCLP, install it to your drive, and restart the installation.

Hi @nkyzr929hc-netizen, for the 2018 Mac mini (T2), please test our latest release (4.0.0.18003.2): https://github.com/Medelcartelinc/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher-T2/releases/tag/4.0.0.18003.2-exp-tahoe-beta. Build and install OpenCore keeping SMBIOS set to None (native Macmini8,1) to test the firmware bypass.

@nkyzr929hc-netizen ·

Thank you I will try and tell what happens

@nkyzr929hc-netizen ·
